MKBAA supports enterprise and business skills in Milton Keynes

Organised by the Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP), in association with full service marketing agency Interdirect and event management experts Evolution, the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards (MKBAA) is in its third consecutive year.

Continuing the pledge from the MKBAA steering group to foster the Milton Keynes business community, net proceeds from the 2016 awards ceremony will once again go towards the trust fund established by MKBLP with the MK Community Foundation for local start-ups and emerging businesses.

“As business leaders we have a responsibility to support local community groups who are investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs and businesses,” said Dr Philip Smith, chair of MK Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP).

“We are particularly interested in funding projects that improve the lives of unemployed or disadvantaged young people through business and entrepreneurial skills,” Continued Philip.

Julia Upton, Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Community Foundation said: “MKBAA has made a significant investment in local community groups since establishing this fund. More than £5,000 has been raised over the previous two awards and we look forward to building on this in the future, in order to continue our investment in skills, start-up businesses and social enterprise.”

MKBAA 2016 will take place on 10 March at the DoubleTree by Hilton at stadiummk, with 600 local business people in attendance. The evening is an opportunity for businesses across MK to showcase the amazing talent that we have in our city.

This years’ awards will be compered by actress, singer and comedienne, Debra Stephenson, who will hold the audience with wit and humour to celebrate the best in business in Milton Keynes.

Entry for the 2016 awards is now closed and applications are currently being reviewed for stage two of the process, which may require further details to be submitted by 20 January. The judging process will then commence and a final shortlist of businesses will be announced.
