KPMG joins MKBAA 2018 as headline sponsors
KPMG, one of the UK’s leading providers of professional services, joins The Open University and Milton Keynes Council as Headline Sponsors of Milton Keynes’ most prestigious awards, the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards (MKBAA).
Ben McDonald, KPMG's Senior Partner in the Milton Keynes office, has also joined the judging panel for the 2018 awards. We spoke to Ben to find out more about his involvement in MKBAA.
“A member of my leadership team attended the awards ceremony in 2017 and said what a great event it was. That, coupled with the enthusiasm I have heard from many of my business networks in MK, led me to enquire about how KPMG could get involved.
“I took on my current role in January 2017 and a personal priority was to get to know the most exciting businesses and those leading the way in the local area. As the premier showcase for the best in local business, it made perfect sense for me to support MKBAA.
“With more than 100 entries across the 12 categories, and a hugely impressive calibre of businesses and charities, we’ve got a really tough job in judging the awards, but it is really exciting to see first-hand the entrepreneurialism and enthusiasm of so many local organisations. The growth of some of those businesses and their contribution to the local economy and community is outstanding, and their aspirations for the future are really encouraging.”
We asked Ben what he was most looking forward to on 8th March, and he told us: “There are so many things that I’m looking forward to on the night of the awards; firstly, getting my team together with some of our best local clients to celebrate Milton Keynes and the businesses that make it a thriving place to work; secondly, I’m looking forward to the showcase of some fantastic businesses to a room full of their peers – even if they don’t end up winning, every shortlisted entry has something to celebrate; and finally, the role that KPMG plays in bringing everyone together to celebrate success.”
